Terms of Service

Last updated: July 9, 2026

Operated by: 9536-7876 Québec Inc. (Aligne).

These Terms govern your use of Aligne and describe the responsibilities of both you and us.

1.Overview of Service

Aligne is operated by 9536-7876 Québec Inc. (“Aligne”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

Aligne is a collaborative workflow documentation, communication planning, review, and governance platform. It helps teams design flows, attach communications, and invite collaborators to view and comment on that work.

Aligne is intended for internal team collaboration and standard business workflows. It is not designed or licensed to operate as a large scale content distribution platform, a public content delivery network, or a substitute for a communication delivery platform, marketing automation system, or transactional sending infrastructure.

2.Accounts and Usage

You are responsible for all activity that occurs within your workspace, including the actions of users you invite. You agree to keep your credentials secure and to promptly notify us of any unauthorised access.

You agree not to:

  • use Aligne for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose;
  • attempt to disrupt, degrade, or interfere with the platform or other users;
  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service without authorisation;
  • misrepresent your identity or affiliation in a way that misleads others.

3.Unlimited Viewers

Paid plans may include unlimited viewers. This means that within a workspace you can invite an unrestricted number of people in viewer roles to inspect flows, review communications, and leave feedback as part of normal team collaboration.

Unlimited viewers applies to standard collaborative use among colleagues, partners, clients, and stakeholders involved in reviewing your work. Aligne is not intended to function as a high volume public content hosting or distribution system, and the unlimited viewers entitlement does not extend to such use.

The following categories of activity fall outside standard collaborative use:

  • unusually high request volumes inconsistent with team review activity;
  • excessive bandwidth usage relative to comparable workspaces on the same plan;
  • using the platform as a public facing content delivery system, embedded viewer, or asset host for end users at scale.

Where activity falls into these categories, Aligne may apply the measures described in section 5.

4.Fair and Acceptable Use

All use of Aligne must remain consistent with the intended product use described in these Terms. The following are not permitted on any plan:

  • excessive or abnormal usage patterns that materially exceed typical workspace activity;
  • automated, scripted, or bot driven traffic that is not part of a documented integration;
  • scraping, bulk extraction, or systematic harvesting of content from the platform;
  • embedding, redistributing, or otherwise exposing Aligne content in a way that generates disproportionate load on the service.

Fair use is intentionally described in qualitative terms so that legitimate teams are not constrained by arbitrary limits. Aligne will apply judgement reasonably and in good faith.

5.Platform Rights and Enforcement

To protect the service and its users, Aligne reserves the right to:

  • monitor aggregate usage patterns and workspace activity;
  • throttle, rate limit, or otherwise restrict access where activity threatens platform stability or fairness to other customers;
  • temporarily suspend a workspace or account pending investigation;
  • require an upgrade to a higher tier, or to a custom negotiated plan, for accounts whose usage consistently exceeds the scope of their current plan.

Wherever practical, we will contact the workspace owner before taking enforcement action and give a reasonable opportunity to adjust usage or upgrade.

6.Asset Hosting and Content Responsibility

Communications created in Aligne may reference assets hosted by third parties, such as images embedded in communication content. You are responsible for the availability, licensing, and behaviour of any externally hosted assets you reference.

Aligne is not responsible for the availability, performance, accuracy, or security of third party hosted content. You agree not to link to or embed content that is malicious, infringing, unlawful, or that you are not authorised to use.

7.Data and Content

You retain ownership of the content you create, upload, or import into Aligne. You grant Aligne a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free licence to host, store, transmit, display, and process your content solely as necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the service for you and your collaborators.

This licence ends when the content is deleted or your account is closed, except to the extent we are required to retain it by law or for legitimate backup, audit, or security purposes.

7a.Intellectual Property

Aligne, including the application, its design, source code, branding, and documentation, is owned by Aligne and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in Aligne other than the limited right to use the service in accordance with these Terms.

You retain ownership of the content you create in Aligne as described in section 7. Feedback you choose to share with us about the product may be used to improve Aligne without obligation to you.

8.Service Availability

Aligne is provided on an as available basis. We make reasonable efforts to maintain uptime, perform timely maintenance, and minimise disruption, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error free, or available at all times.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aligne is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8a.Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aligne and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising out of or related to your use of the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the service is limited to the greater of the amounts you have paid to Aligne in the twelve months preceding the claim or, where no amounts have been paid, one hundred US dollars.

8b.Billing and Subscriptions

Aligne offers Free and paid subscription plans. Pricing is presented before purchase.

Paid subscriptions are sold and processed by Paddle.com Ltd. acting as the Merchant of Record. Paddle handles checkout, payment processing, invoices, applicable taxes (including VAT and sales tax), and refunds or payment transactions where applicable. Aligne provides access to the software service itself; Paddle is the reseller responsible for the payment transaction.

You are responsible for applicable subscription fees while your subscription remains active. Subscription terms, renewals, and cancellations are managed through the billing portal or, where available, through in-app subscription controls.

9.Termination

You may stop using Aligne at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the service if:

  • you breach these Terms, including the fair use and unlimited viewers provisions;
  • your account is in extended non payment;
  • your use of the service places other customers, users, or the platform at risk.

On termination, your right to access the service ends. We will, where reasonably practicable, give you an opportunity to export your content unless termination is the result of serious abuse or a legal requirement.

10.Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will provide reasonable advance notice through the product, by email, or by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Aligne after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11.Plain English Summary

We want Aligne to be straightforward, so here is the short version of the parts that matter most:

  • Unlimited viewers means unlimited for normal team collaboration. Invite your colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to review your flows without worrying about seat counts.
  • Extremely high or abnormal usage may require a higher plan. If a workspace's usage is inconsistent with normal collaborative review, we will reach out and work with you on the right plan.
  • Be a good neighbour. Don't scrape, automate aggressively, embed Aligne as a public CDN, or use it for anything unlawful.

The full Terms above always take precedence over this summary, but in spirit: normal team review is unlimited, abnormal scale is a conversation.
